Our Focus Areas

Plant Research

We research indigenous and threatened plant species to better understand their ecology, propagation requirements, distribution, uses and conservation needs.

Propagation

We conduct propagation trials and develop practical approaches for producing indigenous and threatened species from seed, cuttings and other appropriate methods.

Conservation

We focus on the conservation of indigenous and threatened plant diversity through ex-situ conservation, restoration, and community and private botanical gardens.

Consultancy

We provide technical support for organisations, farms, institutions and communities working with indigenous plants, biodiversity and ecological restoration.

Indigenous Plant Knowledge

We document and promote knowledge about indigenous plants, including their local names, uses, ecology and conservation significance.
